Ram Gopal Varma wanted to make huge noise with his next outing Lakshmi’s NTR and create enough controversies before the polls. The film narrates the life story of NTR from Lakshmi Parvathi’s view and the trailer trigged enough buzz along with controversies. Now the biggest challenge before Ram Gopal Varma was about the film’s release as the elections are announced in the country. The censor board clarified that they would not watch the film now and take a decision with polls heading soon.
“CBFC in trying to delay the film for reasons of favoring one is strangely relying on model code of conduct meant for political parties and contesting candidates. The CBFC has no authority to postpone watching the film on the ground of model code for conduct even before viewing, which amounts to a blatant violation of fundamental right of Freedom of Expression guaranteed under Article 19 of the Constitution of India. #LakshmiNTR” said Ram Gopal Varma. The film will not release as per the plan and a new release date will be out soon.
